Description
One of the many faces that were seen at the Festival of the chariots celebration. Something about her face that made me stop. Angelic?

At peace, maybe.

How did she get that thing on her forehead to stay there. Is it like a jewel on a post inserted in a ready-made hole? Or a drop or superglue? Or does it have a miniature suction cup on the back that holds it in place? I think she looks like she's enjoying some "down" time and relieved she got some time away from home to let her hair down in a peaceful way.

She looks at ease and is comfortable of how she is dressed... Nice Portrait of her. Aloha

wonderful capture. Ratha Yatra is a famous festival in north India in the rainy season. Anyway, it feels very familiar to me. Her forehead is marked with a special kind of white soil (Khari Mati) and the design is known as Tilak or Rasakali which Hindus mark. She is wearing a kind of Basil seed beads known as Kanthi Mala (necklace). Thanks for sharing this.
