Description
I'm going to dispense with
my usual account of my technique
on this sketch. It's the same
with all my images.
This is a sketch with reference
to E. J. Bellocq's Photographs' of Prostitutes.
I chose the image for the character
of the photograph and for one other
reason...for it's comment on humanity!
Prostitutes are condemned for the
selling of their bodies for money, but
the prostitution of outward acts
is not the only prostitution that occurs
in the human condition. The truth is
that more prostitution occurs in the
inward person than what is ever evidenced
outside for the world to see.
We prostitute our Integrity, our Morals,
our Ethics, our Art and the list goes
on and on.
This sketch is a reminder to me
to remain true to what is right, not by my standard, but by a Higher Standard, an
Absolute Standard.
I hope you enjoy this image, but
more than that, I hope you think
about your life and where you stand.
May it always be on solid ground!

Excellent work...a great write up too. I love the attention to details you do. Her hair is great.

I tryed hard to think about my life. The Artwork is stunning, and the words are a heavy commentary about the "prostitution" of our works. The figure in the forefront is extremely well done, but the details in the background are the mainframe of this Art. Especially the Cross. Stunning, at the n-th power.Cheryl: with this you reach the top of your new cycle.

Thank you for putting this image up.....and the very well written comment along with the render. YOu have touched on a very sensitive subject with great skill.

This is a subject that is totally out of the blue. Quite controversial though, but that's the charm of it. In my point of view we are all prostitutes, as we sell our bodies to the omnipotent forces of marketing. They're everywhere...you will pay and you'll have a good time, and if you don't conform, then you will be an outcast of the marketing society. I should know, I study marketing ;)
