Description

22-Of 51-For the 1956 Car year I picket this beautiful "56" Oldsmobile Custom 2dr. Hardtop for your viewing and comments if any. I think this is one of the nicest Olds I've seen for this year. There is nothing I seen here I didn't like. Even the two tone paint job matches perfectly on this ride so I hope you like as well. Thanks for viewing it. Next-1957 pick.

It looks very similar to one we had in the UK a Vauxhall Cresta, have a look on Google.

It is a cryin' shame Oldsmobile was axed shortly after they celebrated their 100 year anniversary. Beautiful pic by the way!

My first car was a 55 Olds Super 88 two tone. I think they changed the tail lights and the grill in 56 but the body is the same. Sold that car when I got my 57 Ford Fairlane 500. Gave that one to my brother when I got my hands on a 65 Vette. But always wanted but never got a 56 T-Bird. Loved cars from the 50's and 60's.

Now I must say, I could spot an Oldsmobile Super 88 from 100 yards, but your collection, look totally rare to me. You obviously know your stuff, so, hats off to you! I happen to remember being driven around in a De Soto, from around 1955, whilst we lived in Singapore. Obviously it wasn't me driving, I was only 4! lol I'll have to keep looking around your gallery. Now, if you happen to feature Jeeps, in particular, Willys MB, you'll have a fan for life! lol I always wanted one, but because of the age of them, I would be afraid they were going to rust (even though they've lasted ok for this long) I think it would be sacrilege, to drive an open top MB down the English coast line, where sand and allsorts of other corrosive elements, could strip it down in a very short time. I am especially tempted, considering I have a lively springer spaniel, who LOVES the sea shore and goes literally bananas, every time he is on the road to our local beack! Nice work! ALL of them! Steve ;)

people always said that the Buick,Olds, and Pontiac were heavier than Chevrolets, but I wonder if it was true. I know that the 3 mentioned had more power options, but metal for metal, I doubt if there was much difference this is a very sharp Olds and capture.
