Or so they think & Jasmines face says it all!!!
The friends were looking at what sports were on the Olympics. Zlata's eyes lit up when she saw Equestrian was on the list. Poor Zwoggle's heart sank, he wasn't too sure about this one as he was sure horses were involved.
Jasmine was sure that the donkeys would help them out, so they all set off for the park.
"Have you thought what we can do about saddles & bridles?" asked Meadow.
Zlata assured them they didn't need bother about that as she could ride without.
Poor Zwoggle was getting more nervous by the minute.
Reaching the field, they had a word with the donkeys & two offered to help.
The friends were not too sure what they were going to do as none of them had ridden before. Talk about running before you can walk!!Looking round the field there was nothing for the donkeys to jump over, as they did in showjumping & eventing.
"What about dressage?" piped up Jasmine.
"Whats that, does it involve getting old costumes on?" asked Zlata.
"No you have to walk round on your horse doing all sorts of smart walks" said Jasmine.
"Errr walking sounds good to me." said an unsure Zwoggle, getting more apprehensive by the minute.
As Zlata & Zwoggle struggled to get on the donkeys, Meadow decided to go & lay down & watch from a distance as she was sure it could all end in tears. She came across Hector Hedgehog, he was on his way home after working the night shift but he decided to stay & cheer the friends on.
Zwoggle was in for a surprise as once he got upon the donkey he felt so at ease & really enjoyed himself. I carn't say the same about Zlata as she found it very difficult to get in the right position & tended to face the wrong way.
Jasmine did think Zlata looked like a bag of bones sat up there but decided to cheer her on rather than draw her attention to the fact.
At least the friends tried something different so I for one think they deserve a medal :o)

Donkeys don't quite meet the same standards as a horse, but this was a marvelous compromise. Great looking scene and splendid story Barbara.

Most certainly gold medals are in order here! And doesn't Jasmine look amazed .. or maybe bewildered .. or maybe a bit stunned at the goings on in the pasture! Meadow was wise to lay down far away, you never with donkeys, do you? Do you suppose Zlata will ever get the hang of riding a donkey .. errr .. horse??? This is wonderfully done, and just too much fun, I'm giggling away here .. but very quietly so not to wake up the whole house!! I think you had fun doing this one, too!!
