And for the many brilliant minds that created this marvelous marvel and brought it to fruition in a fabulously successful landing on Mars. I still can't believe it happened without a hitch.
I saw the whole entry and landing thing live on NASA TV, and was that a wildly happy group at JPL! Also saw the first images from the rover at the same time as the people in the mission control room.
Oh, and besides its scientific equipment, Curiosity carries 17 (seventeen) cameras....not as many as Andrea owns, but still quite impressive.
That said, photo captured 8/4/12, early on an overcast morning, somewhere in the neighborhood.
A ZOOM is highly recommended.
