Description

I took this shot back in the late 80's and have scanned it in for the aviation buffs who are going (I hope) to tell me what they see and possibly where!! This shot has been posted for nearly 9 hours now so I should tell you that it is a Concorde and it was taken in the Concorde maintenance hangar at Heathrow Airport where I worked for an electrical contractor for a couple of weeks installing an overhead cable to power the overhead cranes. We are looking at the air intakes.

I agree with whaleman and blinkings: this does look like the intake assembly under the left wing of the Concorde SST. I always wondered why they were so frikkin' close to the landing gear assemblies, but putting them anywhere else would have done something not-so-nice to the plane's flight signature or something like that. I like this shot quite a lot and it's beginning to achieve that odd patina that distinguishes the '80s from every other era. I really like this shot.

I agree with Whaleman too. The intakes look like Concorde and the registration 'G' is Britain. Probably G-BOAC. Good quiz.

I saw the square intakes but I was thinking XB-70, but they had 6 engines. Saw the G under the wing and figured Great Britain registry but did not gues it was a Concord. Great shot!
