Description
This magnificent Renaissance palace was built in 1568-81 by the powerful Pernstejn family. It is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. The external sgraffito work is regarded as the most beautiful of its kind in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.Do please zoom to see the decoration.

Musím se vrátit do České republiky a vidět toto místo pro sebe. Either I just said something potentially impressive in Czech, or I just began this comment with jibberish, while attempting to write something in Czech. Either way, there it is. What a structure! What artwork. I love the fact that in various places around the world, there are UNESCO protected sites. Heck, Macedonia even has UNESCO-protected dances! But that's a ramble for another day. I must visit this place and do my best to get lost there! How magical!

Hi Jean, to see Litomysl was good idea. Chipka wrote in his comment: I have to return to the Czech republic and see this place for me again. I admire the architecture style there, especially a lot of little tiny spires on top of the castle.
