Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

One of my favorite places out here too. I've never been ale to see it like you have though. Gorgeous shot and the light was perfect.

I agree with Tara. This composition rocks: there's this thing you've got going with the mountains and their reflections and it creates an unexpected symmetry, but that symmetry is NOT symmetrical in terms of the rest of the photograph: I mean it is, but you have to look at the rest of the photograph and see that echo of the mountains followed in the line of the darkened shore. That way, you've light doing the whole light thing and going this-a-way, and then you have the shadows doing the shadow-thing and going thataway, but they fit together because there's a nice balance between the thisaway bits and the thataway bits, and that is where the lake is, which is--of course--a perfect reflector for the sky and so you have still more thisaway and thataway excitement going on. This is such a still photograph, but it's so exciting; there's some really interesting composition business running around in this picture, kinda like a really, really, really interesting baseline in a cool song. I like this!
