first Alida, I saw that it was your birthday a month ago (july 31st, right?), and I'm sorry I didn't say anything then, but I was taking care of someone ill and I just didn't get here for anyone. But let me---a month late---wish you a very happy birthday, and I hope you have a wonderful year too. Your gallery and comments bring a lot of joy to us, and you deserve joy in return. I didn't want you to think I forgot...I just wasn't online at that time it happened. As for your image, I can only do a few images on RR right now, as I don't have the time I usually have. You've posted some gorgeous photos since I've been gone. But I decided to comment on this image this morning, because it's so free and playful and just 'there'. Some of your fractal work is a big dance, a gift for everyone, a big pageant of your prodigious imagination: This is one of those pieces. One can find all kinds of "things" in this, and it appears to unfold in front of a grand doorway or in front of some theater-curtains. But the joy is that it's "stuff," glorious bulbous playful full patterned stuff; which bounces all over the piece and doesn't seem to stop. It also looks like a big urban area, with sub-urban areas surrounding. Your shapes are wonderfully whole, you have your usual patterns and textures all over them, it feels like a big basket of treats spilling into the frame, and you have all that white space in between. All wonderfully presented in front of a wall of some kind, with grand doors and curtains and I-don't-know-what. Wonderfully imaginative and playful, and very rigorous as well. Fine work all around, and, like so much of your fractal work, very playful and creative. Terrific piece, Alida. A real pleasure.
