ELECTRONICS 101
It’s Twitter Twitter chitter chatter time
For humanoids so Romeos can coo
“I love you dear” to twenty ladies now
On line; when drivers’ cellphones chirp an “OOPS!”
In crashing into other cares or folks
Who dared to use the crosswalks on a street.
Indeed we’re shaping eras where the word
Becomes the poetry of yak yaks that
Describe our use of toilet paper or
How much a burger meant to us at lunch,
An era where e-Bay’s digits vend
The marketplace of discount trash to fools.
And even worse, we’re selling freedom to
Greed’s billionaires who flood the media’s
TV commercials with their hates and lies
So they can rule our living and our lives.
It doesn’t take a prophet to suggest
Computers and their Internet will make
Us all pathetic clones to the machines.

Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder. ~Arnold Toynbee Toynbee was a well known English historian during the first half of the 20th century. He believed that, in a civilization's journey from birth to growth and finally death, the life span of a republican form of government was approximately 200 years. This was usually followed by dictatorship and oligarchy. We are overdue but the signs are clear that we are headed for a new Feudal system where we are the serfs and the 1% rule and own everything. Commercials, twitter, eBay, and other trivialities are all part of the "bread and circuses" to keep us pacified.

This might all be true, but I don't tweet, text or watch television, so I can't comment on the veracity of what you say. My grip on reality isn't being threatened so far as I can tell, but I suppose I would be the last to know, wouldn't I? Your writing is superb and to the point as always. It's a pleasure to read your work!
