Description
Starfighter of GAF (Luftwaffe) over typical German countryside. The Starfighter had such a high accident rate that it was called Widowmaker.
Model from mandun in Scetchup Warehouse. As usual, rebuild and with my own textures.

When I saw widowmaker, I thought you were doing the B-26. Great starfighter scene. I have been thinking of reskinning Neil's starfighter and doing some scenes with it.

Excellent texturing job, I like the metallic look.

Excellent render, brings back great memories...when I was first stationed at Luke AFB, Arizona we were training german pilots to fly the F-104 so it was common to see and hear german Starfighters overhead all the time!

Great work.

Very well balanced picture. Looks like riding a dangerous rocket. It is communicated that the German Luftwaffe losses totaled 110 pilots with this airplane. You can read an article about the Starfighter at "Military Factory", if you are interested in some background to the airplane: http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.asp?aircraft_id=113

Well done! The early Starfighters had an ejection seat system that fired the pilot down through the bottom of the plane. Turned out to be a bit of a problem if they had to eject at low altitude! The RCAF used these for a low-level strike role, believe it or not! The plane was designed as a high-altitude interceptor.

The Luftwaffe, used them at low level allot, this of course did not go well with basically a Rocket! Thus the accident was high to start with but it improved.. A fine picture.. I LIKE it! Rob

Fine job you've done on the textures and blends nicely with the background.
