In a nutshell I'm an artist, hermit, and lover of all things Iowa. Art has been a life long endeavor for me. My early training was in drafting and fine arts with emphasis on illustration and cartooning. I was a double major in college and received BAs in Graphic Design and Visual Arts. I spent about two years working as a designer at a publishing company, and then spent a year back in school studying at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. I spent some time working for Joe Kubert as well. I then spent about three years working the in the marketing/advertising field. That really put a bad taste in my mouth and went on a brief hiatus. Having had my fill of 'working for the man', I'm turning my focus to my art and history interests. More on that as it develops! :) I am an Iowan, born and raised in Des Moines, IA and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I did spend a year on the east coast at the Kubert School. It was nice, but it really cemented the feeling that Iowa is where I want to live, work and raise a family. It's kind of difficult to explain, it's something you have to experience. Enough talk, gotta get back to work. Thanks for stopping by! -Jonathan Eike www.jonathaneike.com My Twitter feed
