Ramon, Lisbet and Lex took off for Paris and met up there with Arman, Litza and Saranta. Lisbet wasn't the only one with a few surprise revelations. Saranta got one too, a big one. It was a beautiful fall evening as they walked through the park. Lex had taken her to dinner and then for cheesecake. He said they needed to 'walk it off' and laughed, but really, he wanted her alone - away from all other distractions and people. "Your brother has something he wants me to tell you," Lex began. "This isn't easily told, so I'm just going to start a little before your beginning and tell you why Arman is your brother." Saranta laughed and scratched her head. "Because we were born to the same parents is why he is my brother!" "It's not quite that simple, love." First he had to explain to her that Arman, himself, Ramon, Lisbet and others she hadn't met yet were immortals. This took a bit longer than a few minutes. Of course, she wanted to know how if Arman was immortal, her mother would tell her stories of giving birth to him and when he was a baby. "Because, he allowed himself to die and be reborn into your family, so he could watch over you and teach you what was appropriate to you. You used to be immortal too but some other, bad immortals made you, Lisbet and others mortal, so you'd keep dying and forget who you were." "Which is...?" "Goddesses. We knew you were coming well in advance, so Arman 'planted himself' into the family where you would be born to make sure no one harmed you or got to you. You're a goddess too, just like Lisbet and Litza, Saranta." She looked perplexed. She knew that Lisbet was new to all this and still didn't quite know what was going on. "Goddess of what? Tomboys?" she laughed. "Really?? I'm a goddess?" "Yes, you are. Like all of us, you've been known by many names...but I'll give you a clue or two. Have you ever heard of Epona or Rhiannon?" "My father used to talk about Epona. He was convinced she came from the East - like me! The goddess of horses? Me??!" She giggled. "No wonder!" "Not just horses, grains too. You also guided the souls of the dead to the Underworld. You were very important and worshipped in many places...even in Rome." "Wait a minute...Litza is goddess too?" "Uh...oui. Guanyin - the goddess of the compassionate heart." Meanwhile back at Lex's Paris apartment, Arman was trying to explain things to Litza, but that's another story. ***** Our dragon men, star-child and space-cadet will soon be meeting up with the 'immortals', so it was time to bring them back into the picture. If it isn't obvious, Lex quite likes Saranta and in a convoluted way, they belong together. If you'll recall, Ruby met Litza and Saranta on the beach, and later Arman, when she was on a little vacation to Terra before Merlinus brought Damon up from Malakath.
