(better in full size)... Another photo i took at the Wegerzyn Gardens, this time of this super weird bug, which was pretty big, probably more than an inch long. MorningGlory is right, this looks like it is a Robber Fly. Previously: "Cat Paws - Part 3" thumb_2356648.jpghref>

What an amazing creature! I've never seen anything like this, but judging by its body shape, it's definitely a fly of some sort: probably related to a mosquito or crane-fly in some way. It has the shape of a mosquito, but not the coloration or the proportions. It has powerful wing muscles, that's for sure, and it's an amazing insect. This is brilliant!

AAaaagghhh! Not the photo LoL your capture is superb, my friend =) this fly is really...well, he's the Samuel L. Jackson of flies, looks really tough and mean...and scary! And I thought Florida had some evil-looking Jurassic throw-back bugs. WOW~ keep him there with you guys! Excellent work!
