Description
They walked around the park beside Lex's building early in the morning, taking in all the smells and sights of what nature there was around them. It was more than either of them had seen in some time. They were approaching the door to go back in when a blue butterfly fluttered down and landed on Nico's outstretched hand. "See, I wasn't lying when I said creatures like me."
"Wow, I always used to chase butterflies when I was a girl. Never had one land on me."
"Now you don't have to chase them, if you're with me," Nico smiled. "They will come to you! I think that is what I missed most. Animals, creatures...they always like me and play with me. They make me feel good...happy. They never bite me or sting me. I think they must sense my blood. They would die if they drank it. Thank you for your visit, and there you go, my blue friend!" He tossed his hand up and the butterfly flew away.
"When I first came here, and I went to the farm where I ended up working, they had this horse they called Taz - because he was a spinner. They all try to break him - those thought they could, three of them. One ended up with a broken back - poor soul. I went out to the corral and talked to this horse for awhile. Then I tell him he's going to let me ride him and I will not hurt him. That in itself was something because they told me he didn't let anyone near him since they try to break him. So I give him some grain from my hand and pet him. Then I get on his back and ride him around the corral. They all just stood there with their mouths open," Nico chuckled. "So they hire me! I really do miss the animals."
"You know, you're kind of amazing," Hope smiled patting his cheek. "I suppose we should go in or Damon will eat all the breakfast!"
"He can put the food away," he said draping his arm over Hope's shoulder and feeling sublimely content. "Did I tell you? You look beautiful this morning?"
"You did, but I don't mind hearing it again."
He leaned over and whispered in her ear as they went through the door. It made her blush. "Ahhh, look at you turning colors!" Nico laughed. "You are wonderful."

For one stuck out in space, in space-stations and ships and the other stuck in man-made worlds for years, a simple walk in the park was a real treat. Most of us tend to take these things for granted.

A delightful work, Ray! They look truly happy - not enough happiness these days... I once had a cicada land on me when I was a kid. All the other kids started freaking out, but I just stood there and admired him with a big grin on my face - the other kids thought I was nuts! LOL! I've always liked bugs..

These two make a beautiful couple. They were made for each other. A little less "defined" than most of your other characters. They are a good physical balance.

Sweet picture and concept. Living in a densely wooded area like I do, I have to go out for walks once in a while, just to reaquaint myself with the trees. I'm so curious as to how this will all tie together. The unseen antagonists must really have some agenda.
