Description

First of all be understanding, drawing quality is not great because of reduced size and quality to be within the limits of Renderosity. Anima Mundi. It's a very difficult concept. Many people know the Gaia Hypothesis - but for those who do not know, I briefly summarize from Wikipedia: The Gaia hypothesis, also known as Gaia theory or Gaia principle, proposes that all organisms and their inorganic surroundings on Earth are closely integrated to form a single and self-regulating complex system, maintaining the conditions for life on the planet. This is a modern theory, also considered by some a little risky. In many ancient peoples and civilizations, another idea was considered: the Anima Mundi. Again a litte resume from Wikipedia: The world soul (in Latin Anima mundi) is, according to several systems of thought, an intrinsic connection between all living things on the planet, which relates to our world in much the same way as the soul is connected to the human body. The idea originated with Plato and was an important component of most Neoplatonic systems. It is immediately obvious the similarity between the two concepts. Although the definition is the original Greek civilization, its actual origins are older than history. Although with minor variations, this idea has been present throughout history, civilizations and people, at least until the expansion of the monotheistic religions. These, however, did not deny the idea itself, rather it has been subject to the divinity. Even today many important religious and theologians, as well as scientists, rediscover and reaffirm this idea in its entirety. Thousands of years to become aware of something that the ancient peoples knew already. But despite this, we all see what we are doing wrong and evil to the Earth, to people, to life ... to the soul of the world. Some even consider the human race as a disease of the world and fear the consequences of this. Maybe it's an extreme idea, maybe not. If there is a soul in the world, it certainly suffer. It took a lot of patience. But I think the man has always been too evil to deserve the patience in the world. Today, our ever-present cruelty, though masked by the complexity of a modern civilization, we add the abuse of every available resource. And we are all guilty, all of us. So, how much patience will yet the world? Today, we all know, is a difficult time. But still there are people, many people, who continue to abuse everything and everyone. How long can we tolerate? How much more our world, our home, can tolerate? I'm not interested in stories and theories about the End of the World, 2012, and other such things. The world is alive, it grows, it changes, it has its good times and difficult ones. But we have gone beyond the laws of nature. Any time, we can pass the no return point. We can disappear in a short time, the world will go on, though. It has a future, we may not. In my picture there are men who prays, they ask for forgiveness and help, but really we believe that this is enough? Each of us, honestly, knows or should know the answer. Maybe it's time to follow the heart, to use the reason, not the cruelty and abuse. It is time to think about, it is time to build our future not to destroy it.

Agreed. Excellent illustration for the concept. And frankly I believe it's more than just us and our world. Worlds throughout the galaxy can be connected and galaxies throughout the universe. Universe to multiverse and so on.

Fantastic work with an incredibly valuable commentary. Perhaps Mankind is about to go the way of the Neanderthal and the Cro-Magnan. Homo sapiens sapiens may be usurped by a new species warming up in the wings. Mankind exits stage right, and the Novum Anthropos enters stage left. A new play is about to be produced. This has happened numerous times in the Past. Looking forward to your other work!!!!!

such a wonderful piece of artwork! and, yes, i do believe that the human species, along with many other critters and plants, are at the brink of a precipice. over population, the use of pesticides, herbicides, burning of fossil fuels, the acidification of the oceans, and the list goes on, has brought us probably past the tipping point. very tragic. humans are supposed to be intelligent, but greed, ignorance, selfishness, the need to overpower and rule others, etc. have overwhelmed, destroyed much of this planet. if man cannot live in harmony with nature, then nature will take care of that...and she always wins...

Your narrative delivers a powerful message Whylma. I especially liked your thought of "an intrinsic connection between all living things on the planet" and "building our future - not to destroy it. As always, your render is very powerfuf and well done!
