Description
First of all be understanding, drawing quality is not great because of reduced size and quality to be within the limits of Renderosity.
Anima Mundi. It's a very difficult concept. Many people know the Gaia Hypothesis - but for those who do not know, I briefly summarize from Wikipedia:
The Gaia hypothesis, also known as Gaia theory or Gaia principle, proposes that all organisms and their inorganic surroundings on Earth are closely integrated to form a single and self-regulating complex system, maintaining the conditions for life on the planet.
This is a modern theory, also considered by some a little risky. In many ancient peoples and civilizations, another idea was considered: the Anima Mundi. Again a litte resume from Wikipedia:
The world soul (in Latin Anima mundi) is, according to several systems of thought, an intrinsic connection between all living things on the planet, which relates to our world in much the same way as the soul is connected to the human body. The idea originated with Plato and was an important component of most Neoplatonic systems.
It is immediately obvious the similarity between the two concepts.
Although the definition is the original Greek civilization, its actual origins are older than history. Although with minor variations, this idea has been present throughout history, civilizations and people, at least until the expansion of the monotheistic religions. These, however, did not deny the idea itself, rather it has been subject to the divinity.
Even today many important religious and theologians, as well as scientists, rediscover and reaffirm this idea in its entirety.
Thousands of years to become aware of something that the ancient peoples knew already. But despite this, we all see what we are doing wrong and evil to the Earth, to people, to life ... to the soul of the world.
Some even consider the human race as a disease of the world and fear the consequences of this. Maybe it's an extreme idea, maybe not.
If there is a soul in the world, it certainly suffer. It took a lot of patience. But I think the man has always been too evil to deserve the patience in the world. Today, our ever-present cruelty, though masked by the complexity of a modern civilization, we add the abuse of every available resource. And we are all guilty, all of us. So, how much patience will yet the world?
Today, we all know, is a difficult time. But still there are people, many people, who continue to abuse everything and everyone. How long can we tolerate? How much more our world, our home, can tolerate?
I'm not interested in stories and theories about the End of the World, 2012, and other such things. The world is alive, it grows, it changes, it has its good times and difficult ones. But we have gone beyond the laws of nature. Any time, we can pass the no return point. We can disappear in a short time, the world will go on, though. It has a future, we may not.
In my picture there are men who prays, they ask for forgiveness and help, but really we believe that this is enough?
Each of us, honestly, knows or should know the answer.
Maybe it's time to follow the heart, to use the reason, not the cruelty and abuse. It is time to think about, it is time to build our future not to destroy it.

I would like to believe we can still turn things around, but as long as the monetary system "civilization" has built itself on prevails. Not being one to mince words...we are dooomed, plain and simple. Excellent narrative and image!

i was in BED,I was reminded of the ANCIENT GREECE and GREEK GOD ZUES,THUNDER and LIGHTNING made me Got up from BED and open my E MAIL.I havent been here in renderosity for a while,I saw notice on your POST,i rad some of you writings included ancient greece,I wonder what is the connectiOn?We havent communicated for a while..i do believe in THE END of the WORLD..PLANET EARTH itself will not END..Only this CIVILIZATION..PEOPLE will destroy each other,NUCLEAR WEAPONS will be drawn from all over the WORLD before year 2012 end..it will be LINK to he 11th sign...tied to the DOOMSDAY CLOCK 11th hOur..Next month is september,the 11th anniversary of the September 11 event....i saw the september 11 event ahead of time..i kept quite..i'am going to prevent the next One..NUCLEAR WAR..

OMG!!! First.. I must thank you for your great comments on my Narcissus image. Also I must apologize for not checking the galleries to see how others are expressing their artworks.. I checked out your gallery and I absolutely love your images and the surrealist moods... My partner and I frequently discuss the concepts of the Gaia Principle, however not ever having heard of it specifically. I have long considered and believed that the entirety of the Universe is a total living entity of a "chemical" nature.. breathing and ebbing and flowing with one chemical reaction and another... Physical chemical reactions, Spiritual chemical reactions... all alive and ever changing... And our Earth that we all torture and damage each day... It will be here even when we're not... This is superb work! I really must catch up with your gallery, especially since I've just seen many works that touch on most of my deepest interests! I'm reminded of many things from my personal past when I see this image! I recognize a particular goddess (she's changed Her clothes, I see!) and numerous symbols that continue to influence me. This is a gorgeous and moving piece of work. I'm of the mind that a particular family of monotheistic religions stems from something very odd and disturbing, and I also find it ironic that science and a number of the more ancient and displaced religions share a lot more in common. This is brilliant work.
