Is this recent? The fire that hit Colorado Springs this last June was in that area... Do you have pictures of the damaged areas? I didn't hear if Garden of the Gods caught fire, but I heard it was closed down because of it.

love how you captured the essence of the rock tones and pov Bob, been in this area many times over 25 years or more. always visit many times a year. that distant rock has a big rock behind it, it's where a friend of mines ashes were placed when she died. thanks for the wonderful shot my friend.

If there were gods and they had gardens, I suspect they'd be as formidable as this. I love the grandeur of this shot and the ruggedness of the rock formations. Nature provides such amazing things to contemplate, to look at, to enjoy, and this is one of those marvels I could lose myself in thinking about, maybe crafting a story or two...or at least elements of a story. This is truly amazing!

I watched "One Million Years BC" on TV the other day (I was off work sick & it was purely for "artistic reasons", OK? Cough). I can quite imagine Raquel Welch in her fur bikini running around with a spear in this awesome scenery.... I could also easily image a poncho-wearing, cigar-chewing Clint Eastwood entering the frame from the lower right, spitting, and wanting to paint everything RED...
