Description

Captured 8/16/12, early morning, just a few blocks from my daunting dwelling. Overwhelmingly ZOOM worthy. Another pic from my visit to the beautiful Frangipani/Plumeria tree. Being of tropical origin, the blooms seem to be holding up very well under our intense heat. Please check out the information regarding this species in my yesterday's posting. It occurred to me that not only does this flower resemble motor fan blades, it also lacks a pistil from what I can see. Or maybe it's so tiny that it's practically invisible. Auf wiedersehen, and have a nice day.

A fabulous capture of these beautiful flowers. I've not noticed the lack of a pistil either, but I wont hold that against them.

Oh, this is just perfection, Harry; like a Hawaiian print come to life, in gorgeous technicolour. And a bit of research reveals that the reproductive bits of these flowers are deep inside the base of the flower.
