Description
Yesterday's upload pictured Diablo Dam high in the Cascade Mountains. This is the view from the other side of the same dam showing the unusual color of the water in the dam's reservoir...Diablo Lake.
...The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. That fine powder stays suspended in the lake, giving the water its brilliant color.

Stunning. Nature has a way of being gaudy and tasteful all at once. If humans tried this, it would be...tragic, but Nature does it and pulls it off. I love the POV in this and the mountains in the background give such a nice contrast to the almost table-like sense of the water.
