Description

Hi friends, I hope I'm right with this name: The Southern Hawker or Blue Darner (Aeshna cyanea), a 70 millimetres (2.8 in) long species of hawker dragonfly. Dutch: Blauwe Glazenmaker. The last week I shoot several different dragonflies and damselflies in the evening, around the stream and pond not far from our house. Here is one of them, I hope you like it. I guess this is a female, but I'm not sure. Thank you very much for your lovely comments on my earlier upload. b.t.w. Here it is still very hot and stuffy weather. Unlike the rest of the Netherlands, not any drop of rain has fall.
