Description
these are not forget-me-nots, but I forgot the name
I think they maybe Trumpet Creepers
I snapped them yesterday afternoon. I bet someone will know the name. My mother called them something other than what people have called them here. they are the only flowers I recall from being a child because they were in front of our house and the bees loved them. you remember bees, cute little insects that buzz around and if they sense danger they will sting?
they are scarce as hen's teeth here now

Trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) is a climber that produces orange to salmon flowers. It is a summertime bloomer. Hardiness zones 4-9. Provide trumpet vine with an arbor, trellis or fence and let it climb! While it doesn't have to be trained, trumpet vine does need to be pruned back -- for containment purposes. Indeed, in the Southeastern U.S., trumpet vine is sometimes considered a weed. Birdwatchers take note: trumpet vines are often used in hummingbird gardens!

We, too, had one climbing our front porch post when I was a kid. Love them.....but I remember the ants on them.
