Nice one old friend Im digging what you've been doing. Man I have always wanted to take a picture of lighting; can you tell me a little about how you were able to do it. Also what kind of camera are you useing?

Thanks I am using a Canon Powershot SX130IS using manual settings for exposure and focus. I set the focus at infinity and use large shutter speeds usually fifteen seconds. This is a collage of 6 or so different pictures assembled in Corel Photopaint 9. There exists an alternate operating system for Canon point and shoot cameras that you can put on an sdhc card and it will give you an intervalometer, longer exposures, and a motion detector. It is called CHDK. When you burn this operating system to a sdhc, then it will over ride the camera OS. To return to original specs, remove the sdhc and put one in without CHDK on it. I have not done that to my camera as I do not have a card reader yet and the CHDK for my model is still in the beta stage.

Fantasti. I always wanted to do that and had actually set up several times, once in front of the Mormon Temple in Mesa hoping to get some reflections also, but it didn't work out. I was gone during August and before that most of the action was in the East Valley!

Thanks. We had a crappy monsoon out here in far east Mesa this year. I envy the folks with motion triggers when it comes to lightening photography.
