Description

Narcissus Contemplating his Beauty Narcissus had known all his life that he was a most attractive man with great charms, and he was comfortable having great hubris and arrogance before the gods. Nemesis the goddess saw this and with a spell she drew him to the pond so that he would gaze upon his beauteous reflection. With some resistance, Narcissus was sitting at the pond’s edge. His instincts as a great hunter told him there was danger as he was feeling an unnatural pull for him to look into the gently moving water. He had no idea that he would be gazing upon his beauty till he died.
