The four friends were just having a nice stroll through the woods, chatting non stop as usual, well I will correct that, Zlata was babbling about something. Suddenly the chatter stopped as Zwoggle drew their attention to a forlorn pup sat up on a rock. The three friends, Jasmine, Meadow & Zlata came to an abrupt stop & looked at the pup. They all thought s/he looked very sad & lost. "Hello there." said Meadow in her quiet voice. "What are you doing out here all alone, have you someone with you further back in the woods? The pup just sat there with its head to one side. S/he was a pretty pup Zlata thought, a what she would call a scruffy pup but s/he was clean, if you know what she meant? The pup made a little sound. The friends said it sounded like a cry, when they relayed the story to me. "Don't be afraid." Meadow said, always the mothering type, we won't hurt you. Zwoggle was fascinated by the pup & couldn't take his eyes off him/her as they hadn't yet asked for a name. The puppy began to cry. "There, there" Meadow said. "Please try & tell us what is wrong & if you are lost we will help you find your way home." Amazingly Jasmine & Zlata were being quiet & leaving the reassuring to Meadow. The pup told them her name was Ruffle & she lived with some lovely people, in a beautiful house. "Well where is it." asked Zlata "Have you forgotten?" Ruffle cried a bit more then told them she was in the garden playing with her sister, Spangle when suddenly hands came over the fence & grabbed her & her sister. We cried & whined but our owners didn't hear us. We were put into a box, it looked like the one that Tom our cat was taken to the vets in, then we were put into the back of a car & driven away. Poor Zwoggle by this time was staring open mouthed at Ruffle, there was also a little tear in his eyes. Jasmine looked on & felt so sorry for the pup. "But how come you are here & where is your sister?" she asked. "We were driven, what seemed a long way. The car stopped & the back doors were opened. I could just make out the side of a building as I peered through the box we were in. A lady came out to see us. She had a funny horrible smell about her. She put the box on the ground, put her hand into it & pulled Spangle, very roughly out of the box, looked her all over, turned to the people who had taken us & said "She'll do, put her with the others." "But what she hadn't realised was that while she was looking at Spangle I had crept out of the box & run & hid in a little hollow of a tree". "I could hear the lady shouting & swearing at the people who had brought us to the place. But I kept very quiet & after a while they gave up & went into the building. So here I am, lost & wondering where Spangle is." Zlata couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Well lets get on & look for your sister then." she said. Ever the impulsive one. She looked over to Meadow & Jasmine. "We will find her won't we?" I feel Zlata's caring side is showing. Meadow, Jasmine & Zwoggle could feel another bit of an adventure coming on. "I guess we will give it our best shot." replied Jasmine. "We only came out for a quiet stroll." she laughed. Unbeknown to the friends they were being watched!!!
