Description

A strange ship hurtles through space on a mission. A mission of supreme importance. A kindred species to their own has been identified. But this kindred species dwells on a planet many, many lightyears from their world. But they had received a call for which they feel obliged to answer. Their kindred species is in trouble. They are being attacked by a savage species that also inhabits their planet. This savage species is determined to take over the entire world and is destroying the homes of all the other inhabitants of this world. So our interplanetary travellers are on their way to rescue their kindred species and take them back to their world where they will be safe from the savage species. The savage species has been identified as a carbon-based, bipedal anthropoid known, and feared, in the planets of the distant Melk Weg, by the quaint name "Earthlings". Dedicated to all our fellow faunal and floral species who share this planet with us and whose habitat we are slowly destroying with our so-called "progress". Apologies to _Star Trek - The Voyage Home_ and Douglas Adams for any resemblance in theme. Created in Photoshop CS6. Alien "ship" created in ZBrush. As always this image may spontaneously transform, or vanish into thin air.

Superb work! I love the stylized quality of this image and the incredible depth it has. The overall sense of color is superb. I sometimes wonder about humans. Though we're uniformly violent as a species, our violence does seem to be...somewhat displaced. I find it ironic that the form of social psychosis by one small group of people has come to infect the entire planet; there might be all kinds of reasons for that, but that's a discussion for another time. This is a wonderful post. I like it immensely.

Thank you very much Chipka. Much appreciated. I was thinking of man's collective damage to our planet and the adverse effect it is having on all the other animal and plant species that we share the planet with. Not singling out any one particular group. Cheers.
