Description

Storm Rider APO and Background. PLEASE SEE FULL SIZE! My wife didn’t like my original title. I told her that I saw a bird in the upper right, which was sitting on a brightly colored branch of some sort. She didn’t see the bird, but saw waves of the ocean. We couldn’t agree, but soon she came up with Storm Rider, and we went with that :) The APO was dropped into Photoshop and slightly adjusted, a black background added, then the image was flattened. I then used the Magic Eraser in Photoshop to remove the black background up to, but not including any of the APO, thus leaving the background above the APO transparent. For the background, I dropped in one I have on file from flickr.com titled: Black Forest Sunset, FREELY licensed by: LiNdAZi, under the Creative Commons License. My favorite place for finding backgrounds is Flickr.com. I do an advanced search for whatever I’m looking for, only looking for Photos which can be used for both private and commercial use. I find an image, check to see if the image truly can be used freely under the Creative Commons License, and if so, I download the image, saving a thumbnail of the image, along with the name of the image as found on flicker, as well as, the original owners name. This way, should I wish to reuse the image, a portion of it, or edit/alter it, I know where it was from and the person to give credit to under the Creative Commons License. The coloring and lighting on the APO is just as it eventually ended up using only APO adjustments. When everything was done, it seemed to be missing something. The background was just to much darker than the APO, so, yes, I added my favorite lens flair filter from within Photoshop. I know you all are probably tired of seeing that flair, but hay, I just found it this month and its one of my new toys :) Thanks for viewing and all the wonderful comments you leave. The encouragement is overwhelming, and I truly thank you!

Wow this 3D-fractal looks so great! Surrealistic sense here. Congrats to both of you. And the fragments of colors are very inspirational too

Awesome image! With APO you can save yourself some work on something like this. When you render it you can switch the background to transparent and then render it as a PNG instead of jpeg. That makes it very simple to layer onto of a background image without having to cut anything away.

Greyone beat me to it, I always save APO as Transparent PNG, allows using a Solid or Gradiated BG color or another Image as the BG. I see the Eagle. Strom Rider works well though Peace
