Description

Lake Jackson or what’s left of it. :\ It has rained so much the last three months I haven’t been able to go down here to take pictures. So last Friday it was not raining so I went down to Lake Jackson to find this! Not the result of a drought, but the result of a new Sink-hole opening up in it. Bummer! Hope you all enjoy and please zoom. Thanks for the comments.

sounds like a bummer, but better happen while no one is standing in the lake. I can imagine it swallowing gators, snakes, and 1000's of fish

really strang how some places get more rain then needed and other so much drought. we had a small lake here in the spings that had a sink hole, they drained and repaired the small lake. cool pic Kim.

Perhaps the sink hole opened because of depletion of the local aquifer?

:( That makes me sad. :( To speak of sink holes my son came home yesterday telling me of where some are around this area. He learned of them in science class. :))))))) It is crazy to see no water in this lake. Most excellent capture my friend. :))))) Thank you for sharing this most interesting image. :)))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :))))

Here I am sure it doesnt help stuffing the hole with chewing gum. But it is a beautiful capture, Kim. Seems it could be better for growiing rice. :/
