Description

"Oh how I love thistle!" said the bee as he buried his face in purple... In the field behind my house in SC.

Thistles are among my favorite plants, but when it comes to plants, I tend to favor weeds. I mean, domesticated plants are nice, but they've lost their wild bite! As for the bee! She's a marvel as well. I happen to have quite a fondness for insects, especially of the stinging variety, and aside from bees, I also have a rather friendly relationship with yellowjackets; they sting most people, but around me, they either use me for a perch or shamelessly steal my tea. I really like this shot, and I love the nice contrasts between the softer bee and the somewhat more thistly thistle. Great colors and I like your use of light.
