Description
A shot taken from the balcony of my kitchen: two Chinese people in front of a Chinese take-away for Chinese customers, with typical food you usually don't find in the Chinese restaurants and take-away meant for Italians. Here the different plates are closer to the local taste. In our region it was an easy task: we are serious producers of rice, chicken and pork meat, and we have many recipes with rice as a side course or first course. But the Chinese restaurants and take-away suffered a terrible slump during and after the Asian chicken-flu scare, even if they bought the raw food here in Italy. A perverse consequence of globalized media. So many have changed into Japanese sushi take-away (run by the same Chinese people, of course). We have only a couple of real Japanese chefs in Padova.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Nice capture. You're right about the effects of the media on our cosumption societies. By the way,you made me laugh with the fact that sushi take-away are owned by chinese people. I'm sure that cooks are not indonesians in indonesian restaurants too !

when I flew Taiwan airlines going to the Philippines they had "Chinese" food, that I had no idea as to what it was. the flight ladies when asked a question only answered yes, not knowing any English. I ate the fruit and dessert only this is a fantastic picture

It is human nature to change things. I was shocked the first time that I went to Chinatown in San Francisco , California and Vancouver, Canada and found that the names of the Chinese food was the same but what they served was very different from what I had been eating on the island that I was born on. I like your narratives Sandra! I most always learn something new.
