Description

Lady slipper orchids or slipper orchids are the orchids in the subfamily Cypripedioidea which includes many genera. They are characterized by the slipper-shaped pouches (modified labellums) of the flowers. The pouch traps insects so they are forced to climb up past the staminode, behind which they collect or deposit pollen, thus fertilizing the flower. Info from Wikipedia. Your captures and POV really brings this Orchids to live (or alive, don't know what it is called). Two most beautiful photo's, and I guess I've seen this kind in the Alps in Switzerland, where they call them "Frauenschuh' (woman shoe).
