Description

An ornery shot, but my kind of architectural view, because of its plunges, shadows and collisions. (It's best Full Size!) I just love facades like this: A house can have all kinds of crazy mysteries... I'm halfway through your galleries now---commenting---and I'll finish tonight. It's been great to comment again. Oh---and I didn't forget dedis! I just couldn't do them this summer. But you'll see them eventually, I promise...
Have a wonderful Sunday Mark (A mansion a few blocks from home.)

'Ornery'? Far from it, Mark! A masterpiece with all the compelling qualities of an engraving or etching. It has the feel of a Durer.

This really is an amazing capture Mark, and so easy to see why this would catch your eye. This façade does indeed have a lot of character as it makes a most powerful statement with just its presence. While it is defined by the dark crevices and narrow gaps what caught my eye was the way it's highlighted by the trees adjacent to it which have a character all their own

A fantastic capture, Mark, and such a wonderful line-drawing effect, this really creates even more of a mysterious and commanding atmosphere~ Excellent work, so nice to see another post from you =)

I just love how you combine man made structures with nature, particularly in this photo with such contrasts of delicacy and strength, and yet they seem to live in great harmony with one another. Beautiful, Mark.

I love those intricate edgings, they give this imposing edifice a feeling of delicacy. Beautifully postworked, the etched quality is lovely! Well done, Mark!

Mark, It is such a beautiful architecture, you have captured here and I just love what you did to it. And the tone it just right for this image. And all the chrispy edges are simply stunning. :)

Ahhhhhhhhh, delightful. Lines, lines and more lines...formal verticals and horizontals all offset gorgeously by the sweeping curves and irregularities of nature. I've been playing hookey a lot from RR this summer. Good to see you back...I'll aim for doing more too:)

Ornery shots are usually the best ones, I've learned, unless, of course, they're not. This one, however, is brilliant and it's so perfectly done. I love the way you see thing, especially architecture and the lake. This has some really nice tree-work going on in it and a wonderful plunging neckline...well...do photographs even have necks? Well, it has a nice downward spoopy-thing going on in it and some wonderful details. Fully view is always best with your work and this is no exception. I especially like the muted colors that give this something of an aged look, and that's always a good thing. This flirts, a little bit with sepia toning, only it's not that. It's something distinct to itself and it's quite marvelous. This is making a trip into my favorites.

Superb job of delicate etching and detailing in this neck craning capture, Mark! Geometry and repetition galore, intertwined with nature. I wonder what kind of filter(s), if any, you used in this masterpiece. And I like the sharp contrast in this b & w, which is your signature in most of the photo work that you post. As Denise would say, well done you!

I love the juxtaposition of the building and the tree limbs. I gives this shot such wonderful details. Then the B&W makes it even clearer and sharper. There's such a wealth of that kind of beauty is your city!

I have no idea what you mean by an ornery shot! This is marvellous. It's either a building with a tree in front of it, or a tree with a building behind it, but either way it's perfectly balanced and beautifully postworked. I LOVE that slight hint of a curve in the lower right foreground. It gives this image a bit of a frame and an anchor. Outstanding image!
