Description
This is Sierra, like Sierra Mist Soda. Her words, not mine.
This woman is very sweet, and down to earth. But her physical look shows nothing of that. In fact, when I showed this photo to others, people jeered at it. That makes it a keeper, IMO.
Is it a headshot? Yes. A conventional one? NO! I didn't want to see the eyes, and I said, hell, let's make a photo from the side.
I've learned, it's easy to judge a book by its cover, but at least read a few pages. The Author just might surprise you. ;)

I love it. The tattoo placement is brilliant. I would be happy to judge this book by its cover, cause I think its awesome.. but then I guess my taste is a bit different than some, and I am perfectly content with that :)

I have tats, so I won't be judging her. Great shot.

Guess I'm one of a few but I see a very sweet and gentle girl here. Her choice of body art is non-threatening and shows a creative side that makes me want to talk to her and know why she chose the piercings and hair that she did. I have tats and piercings and I'm nearly 60. It is self expression and celebration. This is a fabulous portrait.

I always judge a book by its cover and this looks like an interesting book with quite a story, so naturally, to carry that metaphor to it's logical end, this book is a keeper. I figure if you look conventional and adhere to "conventionality" then you're probably more interested in selling yourself rather than expressing yourself. That's my take. On the flipside of things, the act of shaving one third of the head is such a modern trend; I can't count the number of times I've seen a third of a scalp or a quarter of a scalp...generally WITH a tattoo, or interestingly carved hair. I like that trend; it's showing a break away from stiff, constipated conventionality, and maybe we're seeing the start of something a lot more honest, refreshing, and fun than what society has shown us (and demanded of) us in the past. I look forward to the day when this young woman is a grandmother and her grand-kids see this image (or one like it) and think: "Heh...Granny was cool!" I like this shot immensely!

Its not what you wear on the outside but what you have on the insides... Interesting shot of her. Aloha
