Taken on my way to Las Vegas 10 days or so ago.
Nothing like being in the open landscape and seeing nothing for miles around other than the Joshua trees and other motorists on their own journeys.

Joshua Trees always make for the most surreal, science fictional, fantasy-like landscapes, especially when they're bleak and empty. The funny thing is such landscapes aren't always as empty as they seem. I love the colors and the different shapes/textures in this shot. This is immensely fascinating!

Great shot, like the antique look sepia treatment a lot. My wife & I had a spooky experience at Joshua Tree National Monument once. We had watched a documentary the previous week about people mysteriously disappearing at Joshua Tree & when we got there, we were the only ones around until this old van pulled up & a couple of big, scruffy, mean looking guys got out & started looking around. It just felt eerie & dangerous, so we jumped in our car & drove out of there. Never been back...
