Description

"Whether it was out of a fear of the power that had built up in the place, the feeling of afront that someone else would dare claim the sky as their own, or through the whispered machinations of a 3rd party, no-one knows exactly why the dragons chose that moment to enter the War." "But with the first explosion of flame through a crowded mess hall, the question "why" became irrelevant - the dragons descended on Amarri-Tath without warning and reduced the citadel to a blazing ruin. The city of Three Peaks was not spared from the flames either as burning debris and dying dragons rained down from above. In the days after the battle, thick clouds of poisonous smoke settled in the valleys, covering the mountains, and strangling all life from the area." "That same smoke also served to conceal the answers to many questions. Was the citadel brought to the ground when the mages died or does its burnt out shell still sit above the ruins of the city? Did the library rumoured to contain every piece of magical knowledge in the Great Kingdom survive the flames? Did the cavern that was so strong in magic of the purest form that your very thoughts could become reality ever really exist?" "About the only thing that is known is that Amarri-Tath contained the might and knowledge of the wizards of the Great Kingdom from before the war, and surely not all of it could have been destroyed in the battle." "Now," said the barkeep, eyeing off his audience,"if you could find that place and return with proof, your legend would be unrivalled." Thanks for looking and for any thoughts you may leave. Dave L.
