Description
While the girls were settling little Ruffle into the hollow, Zwoggle was having an adventure of his own. He had left the friends chatting over what Meadow had seen when she went through the door. He had decided he wanted to be the hero for once & decided to go it alone. He was hoping to impress Zlata.
As he walked further along the corridor he could hear what he thought sounded like puppies crying. The crying got louder the further he went.
Then there in front of him was another door, he slowly opened it, not knowing what he would find. He remembered Ruffle mentioning a smelly lady. What did she really mean by smelly, Zwoggle thought to himself. He just took a peep as he pushed the door slowly open, he could see grass & a very grey looking sky & dark clouds, it was not a very nice place at all but he decided to go through. As he walked out onto the damp grass, he saw in front of him a ramshackled shed. That is where the noise is coming from thought Zwoggle. If he was perfectly honest he didn't really like being by himself & he was beginning to wish he hadn't left the others behind. He wasn't too sure about this being brave stuff.
He told himself not to so be silly & decided to have a look round. He couldn't see much more than trees, bushes & this gloomy looking shed. As he was getting used to the surroundings he thought he heard someone calling his name.
"Zwoggle, Zwoggle, watch out."
"Hide Zwoggle, hide."
Then he heard a rustle of the bushes & as he turned to look in the direction of the noise he saw this HUGE dog jumping right over the top of the bushes & it looked as if it was heading straight for him.
Even though he was scared he decided to stand stock still, he had remembered the girls telling him that if a dog came charging towards you NOT to run. So this is what he did, although he was very, very frightened & his little heart was pumping.
Not only was the dog coming towards him but there was also someone else coming over the rise. Could this be smelly lady he thought.
Poor Zwoggle but I think the good fairy will be making sure he is ok.

Brilliant! I am excited, and I can only imagine how a toddler might feel about this story. It is clever of you to add the fairy reassurance in each episode.

I'm glad that he is still okay, but he really shouldn't have gone off by himself hopefully the little fairy will keep him out of harm's way

Wow what a adventure Zwoggle has found himself involved in. What a braveheart and strong will he has. The excitment and interest is totally outstanding as the plot thickens in this wonderful story Barbara.

OH NO!! How could you leave us hanging like this?? Not knowing if poor wee Zwoggle got bowled over and hurt by that big dog or not? HA! But I already know because I started at teh wrong end of the story! I'm just so happy that the Good Fairy is there to watch out for him! Another marvelous illustration for you awesome story!
