I've been trying to get a decent photo of one of these for several years but they are usually quite shy.
Still, patience is rewarded in the end. :-)

That is one cool bird =) I've never seen one of these before, beautiful 'headdress' of feathers, he looks like he's smiling! Excellent capture, your patience truly paid off!

Ohhh I love grebes, they have such delicacy for waterfowl. Though I was bitten by one once (dont worry, I wasn't being dumb, I was helping one that was injured), was like pinching your hand in a screen door. Ow. Fantastic picture, your patience really did pay off, it was worth it. :)
