Description
There's a certain quality to Dutch art & architecture that I find very appealing. Fine craftsmanship, to be sure, but something else as well. Something about the way they blend man-made & natural elements or the balance of simplicity & ornamentation or ? I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's why I have always deeply admired the work of Vermeer & why I've always greatly enjoyed my visits to their country (well, also because I've found them to be a very friendly & gentle people)...
