Wise words, and an intriguing shot.

I like your text to the photo. I also like the contrast between the outside - green/growing and the now to the dark window/past that might have been as beautiful in it's now.

A very intriguing shot! And I love what you've written. The past is such a complicated thing, as is the future. Basically both are projections of the present and I suspect that those who spend time looking back or looking forward are far less satisfied, or aware of now as they say! Now is where all of the interesting, fun stuff is happening, after all! The rest is history or extrapolation: either dead or potentially alive, but not alive. We can learn from it, but we can't live there! What I like about this photograph is the elegance you always. I like my eyes very much, but sometimes I wonder what it must be like to see with another artist's eyes. Of course, the easy way to do that is to look at the pictures that another artist shows us, and that's good enough for me! I like the ivy, the window, the flakes of paint and the very real presence of ghosts/specters/phantoms, despite the fact that there's nothing "supernatural" in this photo. There's a profound sense of history in this shot, and also an intriguing glimpse at the present, especially for me, as I'm currently fascinated by creeping plants, climbing plants, and plants that possess tendrils and holdfasts. I can see ivy in this shot and I'm experiencing the photographer's itch to get up close and just how it's holding on to this marvel of a decaying building. This is a gorgeous, evocative shot.

The present is always 'right here and now' and every day is a new discovery - no matter how many times I walk around our property and find evidence of new marvels of life which I hadn't seen before, sometimes in the minutest details and what a joy to find and behold ... and then you usually find you have more to compare it with, from the days before - and that's how we create memories, nothing wrong with a bit of day-dreaming either - my own little secret world. Another lovely discovery and on your speculation thoughts, also wise words Nikolay, BB

Being a history buff I often walk through history (battle fields, museums, etc.) for my present enjoyment. A wonderful image...I could tell it was yours without seeing the credits.

There's something beautiful and mysterious about a building being reclaimed by nature. I love the light and your composition. A most evocative piece!
