Flies of this overall body shape always make me think of helicopters in need of haircuts. And I have to say that I find this to be quite a compelling image! I'm partial to insects, however; they're such exquisite critters, even when they're annoying and even dangerous. One has to admire their functionality! I admire this shot, greatly! The details are simply astounding and the fly itself looks to be positively gorgeous, and maybe even sexy, from the perspective of another fly, at least. From my particular human perspective, there is an intrinsic beauty in this insect and whole gobs and gobs of beauty in the photograph. It's a masterwork of macro photography.
