Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

What a hoot....the old guy is hep! Go for it, man! Terrific clarity and color in this great snap of the very senior citizen dancing away, despite his multitude of ailments, Marilyn. Reminds me of the movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Actually, this could very well be a picture of me, except that I don't use a wheel chair.

When you know how to dance, you know how to live! This guy obviously knows how to live, and he's doing it so well! I love this shot! I want a shirt like that! I love the dominance of blue in this shot, and it's even better because tonight is a bluesy kind of night in Chicago. We got rain and chilly temperatures and being in a smoke-filled room with some blues singer getting sweaty on stage would be perfect, right along with something harsh and fiery to drink. This is a brilliant shot: in-the-moment and fully in the living part of life.

I have a friend who has Parkinsons, and despite his shuffling walk and poor balance, he'll accept any invitation to dance! I always make a point of getting him out on the dance floor. He was a fabulous dancer in his younger days, and he still has all the moves, even though they're a bit limited now. Still ... he makes me look like I know what I'm doing. You're never too old or too infirm to boogie!

A wonderful people shot and I am happy that this 'young fella' was having a fun time!
