Description

It is said that fire is a living thing because it consumes oxygen. I tend to look at water falls much in the same way. After all where would life be without water. Imagining the life one drop of water can contain and the immense volume of water plummeting down. The water, weaves and wafts, flows and intertwines as a free spirit. The cool currents of air that have followed the creek over the edge mixing with the hot air of the valley. Causing the column of mist to breath life wherever it may vary. It is very much alive to me. Not 30 seconds before that column had me engulfed. ;~) A great week to all! To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2367729.jpg

I agree with you water is the staff of life-- we would be like the surface of Mars with out it. I seen other pictures of Bridle falls but this perspective is great-- good job!

Wow...like Mike says! What a view and what an awesome capture, Dana!!! Yes, water is pretty necessary and has amazing powers: to nurture growth, to calm and soothe, to please our eyes, to wash clean and to utterly destroy everything in it's path.

I see what looks like an ancient carving in the stone wall. Look at the eleven o'clock position in the picture. Those two black cutouts in the stone right next to each other. That's so cool! The eye on our right looks bigger than the left eye though. Very profound thoughts too! Very powerful and beautiful, your words and the water. Sometimes though? I look at a map and think I'm too close to the ocean. I'm a freak, I know, LOL, but sometimes I think it can just rise up and wash over the land. And I'm in Pennsylvania. About 100 miles away. But still. My town is over 1,000 feet above sea level though. I've checked. LOL. :) Incredible angle on this breathtaking shot as well, my friend!

I know right where this is; got soaked a couple of years ago when the falls were HUGE, the path to the base had water that came up to my ankles. I went anyway, but there was so much mist I couldn't see the falls at all. Your Yosemite shots are just great!!

A really superb composition. I have seen several of these falls, but yours conveys the spirit of the place best.
