Description

The traditional gift for 2 years of marriage is either straw or Cotton, So here are both as another gift for Tara and Bill! A countryman's favour was usually some corn stalks plaited into some shape, often a heart. I only happen to have this one left.

This is astonishingly good! I love stuff like this, especially when traditional gifts and their explanations are involved. I love the colors, the warmth, the texture and the whole detail-rich elegance this has. This is quite marvelous and it's a perfect dedication as well!

What a treat! We've spent the day driving north and then back down the coast road (it's called Chuckanut Drive ... isn't that fun?) eating fish and taking loads of pictures. Such a nice day! Thank you for bracketing it for us with a picture this morning and another one this evening. It's so nice to be thought of! :)

And just to think you could have been burnt as a witch for possessing something like this during the inquisition.

A very suitable dedication for both, Tara & Bill, but what I really like is the idea behind this and the way you decorated it, especially the colour composition, marvellous ... BB

Hmmm .. wouldn't have something to do with fertility, would it?? Ah .. silly me. Still .. seriously it is a lovely gift .. there is much to be said for tradition .. it is was gives our lives continuity with those that were, and those that will be.
