Ah, the things you come across on an innocent drive. Located six miles West of Antonito, CO is the ruin of San Isadore church, nominally in Las Mesitas. There is a wider area of shoulder where you can park, but not even a sign telling you the name of this magnificent ruin. I have not been able to find much information about the building, when it was built, or even a photo of it intact. One source says it burned in 1975. The passing years have erased the soot, but the remains of the framing are still visible, burned right to the walls. The adjoining cemetary is nicely decorated. First of a series.
