Description
A little more than 2 months after her famous duel with the USS Monitor, the Virginia found herself without a home port as the Union army occupied Norfolk. With no way to get farther upriver and with her wooden hull exposed due to an attempt to reduce her draft, Josiah Tattnall reluctantly ordered her abandoned and destroyed. Off of Craney Island near the mouth of the Elizabeth River she had her guns and flags removed and Lt. Jones set her ablaze. Early on the morning of May 11th the fire reached her magazine. A spectacular end to the short but famous career of the CSS Virginia.
After some really good comments on the lighting by London I tweaked this a little as I totally agreed with those points. Thanks for the helps

Cool work. I love that model. I think the Hankster had some Civil War ships, too.
