Description

It's been a year since our cat 'Monkey' died, and we decided to bury her under the Mulberry tree. The harvest is now in full swing and we can't help but thinking and thanking her for every mouthful of yummy fruit, stains and all ... BTW our neighbour also has mulberry trees and in abundance, not only deep purple ones, even white ones - which leave no stains, not a bad idea! I love Spring and it has finally arrived for us here in the Southern Hemisphere, which was on the 1st of September and not the 21st. Today I have spotted the Blue-faced Honeyeater, who drew my attention to the Jacaranda trees and that is usually the first sign, for them to bloom soon, in all their mauve coloured splendour ... Cheers Brigitte (aka blondeblurr)

What a gorgeous bunch of berries. They are so yummy and delicious when the local grocery store has them in stock I buy some but they are soooo expensive. Excellent collage and a wonderful dedication for your cat Monkey. Tis calling for snow here today, soon the wrath of winter and all the miserable cold that goes with it. Will be thinking of you as you roll into your Summer Brigitte.

I haven't eaten mulberries since I was a kid. We used to climb up in the trees and eat all afternoon. Course later had tummy aches to show for it. LOL

I have a mulberry but it is one that produces messy ornamental berries and not one that has any use other than frustrating it's owner. Stellar shot. I planted fruit trees over the placentas of 1 of my children and the dried cord stump from 3 grandchildren to form a lovely wooded section of fruit trees in a corner of the yard. It is comforting.

All around the mulberry bush the monkey chased the weasel the monkey thought 'twas all in fun pop goes the weasel! ~ an old nursery rhyme from my childhood (American version) I have never seen a mulberry bush or had mulberries. Wonderful images. Enjoy the fruit.

Lovely collage Brigitte and beautiful berries. We put them on our cereal when we were kids. It was 42 degrees Fahrenheit when we got up this morning. We are about to head to south Florida for the winter.

Great pics. Mulberries are delicious. Monkey must be smiling and happy in heaven knowing that you remember him so fondly.

Fantastic pictures, my dear friend. Full of live and joy. It must be wonderful to live in your garden with such a company of fruits, animals and all those smell and flowers. The photo's are really very attractive to me, and I would like to take the first plane, to see all the beauties of your spring there, so far away! So, enjoy also for me, dear Brigitchen :)

Beautiful capture and presentation! These definitely look tempting! Sad to hear about the death of Monkey... that isn't easy for sure... even after some time the memories still seem to pain. A beautiful memory though, nevertheless!

Oh my friend you are so lucky that Spring is just beginning there. :)))) We just entered our Autumn on Saturday. :) I am going to try extra hard to look at the cool and cold months in a more positive way. :)))) Enjoy each second of Spring my friend. :))))) I love fresh fruit. I ate so many blackberries this past Summer. I had juice all over my hands and face. LOL!!! :)))) These berries remind me of them. :))))) Most excellent capture of Spring. :))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :)))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))

These look so yummy even though they do stain. We don't seem to have these down here do they get frosted I wonder. I must look it up. I enjoyed Perth's spring flowers while I was there and had a great time. Even went out into the bush several times to see the flowers.

Yum! I feel as if I could just reach over and pick one. When I was child we had a white weeping mulberry tree. Delicious! Enjoy your spring.
