I so often find Helle's work to be inspiring! Unfortunately, I am rarely able to come up with something I think approaches her technique or her results. Her creativity and talent leave me in awe on a regular basis.
Earlier today she posted Vase and Fruit for Jocko500 and I absolutely loved it! Since I don't draw with anything approaching Helle's skill, I started with a photograph and turned it into a line drawing in Photoshop, and then did what I could to get a close approximation of what she'd done. (This is a blend of two of my own photographs.)
THIS time I'm happy with my result! Thank you, Helle, for sharing your technique! I learned loads of fun stuff today, and have already been branching out with different images and combinations.
You inspire me!

This rocks. It actually captures the essence of Helle's style, while being something all its own. I think it's the balance of lines and shapes. And the softened color. That's such a Helle trademark. This captures that with all of the nice, wonderful Tara things that I come to expect in your gallery. Artistic signatures are such a wonderful thing. I love Renderosity for all of the distinctive artistic signatures I see all over the place. And this really captures that so perfectly! I love the colors, the lines, the shapes, the hints and whispers of shapes. The whole shebang! This rocks! I love it.
