Description
This shows my mesh of the Aries 1b from the film 2001 A Space Odyssey approaching the Moon. The Moon is displacement mapped, and was rendered seperately.
The legs and leg covers are rigged to animate, and I have made the mesh available for download at Foundation 3d, Lightwave format.
The model was very tricky to build, mainly because it took me a long time to work out that they cheat in the film, and use a mirrored version for some shots!

I think you have done a great modeling work here, I know how hard it can be to do it, right now I am myself building a spaceship. Cheers for your reminiscence of one of the great sci-Fi movies:)
