Description

Little kids watching a Ragged Tooth Shark passing by at the aquarium at u'Shaka Marine World in Durban, SA. Not the best pick with the top fin cut off but I like it. I took Kayla for a weekend trip to Durban which turned out interesting. She got very sick and I had to rush her to a doctor for antibiotics. Her fever was off the charts. Between her being sick and bad weather, we did manage to do some fun stuff. :-) I will just have to take her again.... Thanks for popping in and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "A Touch of Red - for Denise". thumb_2366151.jpghref>

That shark simply looms and I think that it's a great pic no matter how it's naturally cropped. I mean, it's not like you can get sharks to cooperate, now can you? I love the underwater blues and the silhouettes. This is really brilliant and kinda fun in that kids at the aquarium sort of way.

The POV here is more than excellent - the shark loos here great - but the shadows of the kids give this capture a special moment

@ Barbara - no flash used. I have a 50mm 1.4f fixed lens that allow me pretty good images in low light situations!

Superb capture |Carin. I do remember me and my families visit to Ushaka. Did not have a descent camera at that time. God Bless.

I don't know about you Carin but I find aquariums one of the hardest places to shoot. You can't use am external light, and there are always hordes of people everywhere! I like this shot though.

Great ambience in this shot of the kids, rapt in awe, contrasted against the blue of the water, Carin. Oh, I can just hear the ominous theme from the movie now with that streamlined predator circling round and round in that humongous water tank. And I hope Kayla is okay now.

I'ts not so bad without the fin. I say this do to your having captured the girth of this big predator along with the kids, looks great!!

Fantastic shot, top fin or not! I wonder if the shark is thinking "Which one should I pick for dinner?" LOL!

An amazing capture of the 'big beast' - scary! I do hope the kids won't have nightmares after seeing this, I know I would ... but a fine representation with your skills, BB
