Description

I was rather surprised and pleased recently to get a shot of this little fellow. Though there have been Moorhens on my bit of the Thames for some years, they are such shy little creatures that I rarely get an opportunity for photos. Even when I have managed to get a shot, they are usually blurred or out of focus. I believe this one to be a male as he is quite colourful compared to the ones I have seen with chicks. I can only assume that he thought I couldn't see him as he seemed happy enough to hide in this bush while I took several shots - this being the best (though still not great). ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 20 Sep 2012
